1969 Gemak is established in 1969 by Naval Architect Mr. Ismet Uner as a small yard in "Golden Horn" in The Bosporus, Istanbul.
1981 The yard was moved to Tuzla which was designated as a ship repair and ship building area by Turkish Government authorities.
1996 A floating dock with a lifting capacity of 28,000 tons was imported from Italy.
2008 With numerous investments in modern equipment and facilities as well as a comprehensive new organization, the state of the art steel and pipe center was commissioned. Neta Factory was founded.
2009 By accomplishing the construction of a graving dock, Gemak TGE started repairing services in addition to new building activities.
2014 Gemak Group has built four steel shafts for Izmit Bay Bridge connecting Istanbul with south of Turkey.
2015 Gemak Group constructed the main steel structure deck of Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge (3rd Bosphorus Bridge). This was the biggest amount of steel work per project in the sector.
2016 Gemak founded Turkey’s 256th and first in the shipping segment R&D Center approved by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology.
2017 First ship lengthening operation ib graving dock in dry condition by using skidding system in Turkey.
Gemak's floating dock with a lift capacity of 9,000 tons was converted by Gemak raising its capacity up to 14,000 tons.
